L-Carnitine rescues ketamine-induced attenuated heart rate and MAPK (ERK) activity in zebrafish embryos

Ketamine, an antagonist of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA)-type glutamate receptors, is a pediatric anesthetic. Ketamine has been shown to be neurotoxic and cardiotoxic in mammals.
