Synthesis of Miconazole and Analogs Through a Carbenoid Intermediate
An alternative synthesis for the preparation of miconazole,enilconazole and econazole is described. The process involves theintermolecular insertion of a carbenoid species to imidazole from α-diazoketones with copper acetylacetonate as the key reaction of thesynthesis route.
