TGF-β Inhibition and Immunotherapy: Checkmate
Immune checkpoint therapy can induce durable remissions, but many tumors demonstrate resistance. Mariathasan et al., and Tauriello et al., identify stromal TGFβ signaling as a determinant of immune exclusion. Combination TGFβ inhibition and immunotherapy induces complete responses in mouse models.
