Enantioselective Ring Opening of meso-Cyclohexene Epoxide with Phenyllithium Catalyzed by Chiral Schiff Base Ligands

A library of chiral Schiff base ligands was synthesizedfrom aromatic aldehydes and chiral amino alcohols. These ligandswere then screened as catalysts in the asymmetric ring opening ofmeso-cyclohexene epoxide with phenyllithium to give (1S,2R)-phenylcyclohexanol in 9-67% ee.
