Asymmetric Synthesis of Naturally Occurring b-Hydroxyamides (R)-Tembamide and (R)-Aegeline

Chiral cyanohydrins were synthesized from anisaldehydeand trimethylsilylcyanide catalyzed by a chiral Schiff-base titaniumcomplex. Cyanohydrins were converted into chiral the ß-hydroxyamides,(R)-Tembamide and (R)-Aegeline.
