Autophosphorylation of type II Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase in cultures of postnatal rat hippocampal slices.

Autophosphorylation of Thr286 on type II Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase (CaM kinase) in vitro causes kinase activity to become partially independent of Ca2+.
