Cooperation of GroEL/GroES and DnaK/DnaJ heat shock proteins in preventing protein misfolding in Escherichia coli.

Newly synthesized proteins aggregate extensively in Escherichia coli rpoH mutants, which are deficient in the heat shock proteins (hsp).
