Enantioselective Synthesis of (+)-Majusculone
[Image: see text] The first enantioselective synthesis of a chamigrane sesquiterpene, (+)-majusculone, has been completed. The quaternary center was generated asymmetrically by alkylidene carbene insertion, with retention of absolute configuration, from a diastereomerically pure ketal.
