Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Studies of the Structure and Binding Sites of Enzymes, XII. A Conformational Equilibrium in Staphylococcal Nuclease Involving a Histidine Residue

Evidence is presented for the existence of a conformational equilibrium in staphylococcal nuclease, involving one out of the four histidines and none of the other aromatic residues in the polypeptide chain.
