Autolysin(s) of Bacillus subtilis as Dechaining Enzyme
Bacillus subtilis bacteria grow exponentially as long filaments in well-aerated cultures at 48 C. These filaments are chains of cells which can become unlinked when a B. subtilis autolysin or egg white lysozyme is added to the culture medium. IMAGES:
