Identification of the heat-inducible protein C15.4 as the groES gene product in Escherichia coli.

The product of the Escherichia coli morphogenetic gene groES (mopB) was identified as the heat-inducible protein C15.4 by two-dimensional gel analysis of the products of wild-type and mutant alleles carried on the bacterial chromosome, on a hybrid plasmid, and on a transducing phage. IMAGES:
