ORIGINS OF THE INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN: THE CARIBBEAN CONTRIBUTION
The paper traces the development of the international human framework for women´s rights and explores the origins of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women in the Latin American context, through the life stories of the Mirabal sisters in the Dominican Republic.
