Knowing the amygdala: its contribution to psychiatric disorders

The present article provides a briefdescription of the anatomical andchemoarchitectonic organization of theprimate amygdala reviewing the functionalimportance of this structure andanalysing how its failure can result inbrain disease with special reference to psychiatricdisorders.
