We report the synthesis of organometal halide perovskites by milling CH(3)NH(3)I and PbI(2) directly with an Al(2)O(3) scaffold to create hybrid Al(2)O(3)-CH(3)NH(3)PbI(3) perovskites, without the use of organic capping ligands that otherwise limit the growth of the material in the three dimensions....
