This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Diagnostic test accuracy). The objectives are as follows: To summarize the diagnostic accuracy of point‐of‐care nucleic acid‐based tests to detect HIV infection in infants and children aged 18 months or less exposed to HIV infection.
