This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To evaluate the benefits and harms of emtricitabine versus no intervention, placebo, and non‐emtricitabine interventions in adults with lamivudine‐resistant, chronic hepatitis B virus infection.
