Reaction of Co(NCS)(2) or Ni(NCS)(2) with pyridine-4-thio­amide in different solvents led to the formation of two compounds with composition [Co(NCS)(2)(C(2)H(3)N)(C(6)H(6)N(2)S)(3)]·2CH(3)CN (1) and [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)S)(4)]·5CH(3)OH (2), respectively.
