Mitral valve replacement with Alvarez prosthesis: long-term results
The high mortality and morbidity that follow insertion of the Alvarez valve in the mitral position, and particularly the thrombo-embolic complications, stopped us from using it clinically in the Leeds General Infirmary. IMAGES:
