Molecular characterization of plasmids from virulent and spontaneously occurring avirulent colonial variants of Shigella flexneri.
Spontaneous transition of Shigella flexneri from T- to O-type colonies with concomitant loss of virulence dose not appear to be accompanied by a change in any of the four plasmic species found in the virulent parent. IMAGES:
