In the title compound, C(17)H(15)BrO(3)S, the 4-bromophenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 76.58 (9)° with the mean plane [r.m.s. deviation = 0.006 (2) Å] of the benzofuran fragment. In the crystal, molecules are linked by weak C—H⋯O and C—H⋯π interactions.
