Unwinding-like activity associated with avian retrovirus RNA-directed DNA polymerase.
The avian retrovirus RNA-directed DNA polymerase contains an activity that is capable of removing hydrogen bonds from duplex nucleic acid molecules. This "unwinding-like" activity appears to be specific in its action, affecting RNA.DNA and DNA.DNA duplex molecules but not RNA.RNA duplexes....
