Translational block to expression of the Escherichia coli Tn9-derived chloramphenicol-resistance gene in Bacillus subtilis.
The Gram-negative product-encoding Tn9-derived chloramphenicol-resistance (Cmr) gene can be cloned but not phenotypically expressed in Bacillus subtilis.
