Dual Roles of FmtA in Staphylococcus aureus Cell Wall Biosynthesis and Autolysis

The fmtA gene is a member of the Staphylococcus aureus core cell wall stimulon. The FmtA protein interacts with β-lactams through formation of covalent species.
