The title compound, C(15)H(16)BrNO, obtained from a two-step reaction, was prepared for use in transition metal chemistry as a phenolic ligand with bulky substituents. Intermolecular N—H⋯O and O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure.
