Characterization of Pyridoxine Auxotrophs of Escherichia coli: Chromosomal Position of Linkage Group I

The chromosomal location of Group I pyridoxine mutations in Escherichia coli is shown to be adjacent to dsdA,aroC, and purF (old purC) in E. coli B × K-12 hybrids. All mutants previously classified into Group I by nutrition tests and transduction frequency tests are shown to be linked to dsdA.
