The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(9)H(8)Br(3)NO, contains two independent molecules. Intramolecular N—H⋯Br hydrogen bonds are present in both molecules. In the crystal, molecules are packed into columnar chains by intermolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
