9-Benzyl-3-bromo-9H-carbazole
The title compound, C(19)H(14)BrN, was synthesized by the N-alkylation of (chloromethyl)benzene with 3-bromo-9H-carbazole. The carbazole ring system is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.013 Å) and forms a dihedral angle of 87.1 (2)° with the phenyl ring.
