The molecule of the title compound, C(6)H(6)N(2)O(2)S, lies on a crystallographic mirror plane with the methylene H atoms related by mirror symmetry. In the crystal packing, molecules are linked into layers by intermolecular O—H⋯N and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
