The title compound, C(7)H(5)BrClNO(2), crystallizes with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. In the absence of classical intermolecular interactions, the crystal structure exhibits relatively short intermolecular Br⋯O distances [3.143 (9) and 3.162 (9)Å].
