The title compound, C(9)H(12)N(2)O(2), was prepared by the reaction of acetylfuran and propionylhydrazine. The molecule, excluding H atoms, is approximately planar. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
