Distribution of an Inducible Hexose-Phosphate Transport System Among Various Bacteria
A transport system for glucose-6-phosphate, which is inducible by glucose-6-phosphate but not glucose or β-glycerophosphate, occurs in a variety of bacterial genera. The correlation of the fosfomycin sensitivity with the presence of the transport system is described.
