Correlation Between Pigment Production and Amino Acid Requirements in Bacillus subtilis
Several Bacillus subtilis W-23 auxotrophs were unable to produce wild-type pigment normally on minimal agars supplemented sufficiently for growth. This offers a reliable means for scoring genotypes. IMAGES:
