Effect of polymyxin on the outer membrane of Salmonella typhimurium: freeze-fracture studies.
Polymyxin-caused projections on the cell surface of Salmonella typhimurium were seen as depressions in the outer concave fracture face and as protrusions in the outer convex fracture face, indicating participation of both leaflets of the outer membrane in these projections. IMAGES:
