Heme Inhibition of Ferrisiderophore Reductase in Bacillus subtilis

Heme was a noncompetitive inhibitor (apparent K(i) and K′(i) = 0.043 mM) of a ferrisiderophore reductase purified from Bacillus subtilis; protoporphyrin IX had no effect.
