Lysis of Sphaerotilus natans Swarm Cells by Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus
Six strains of Sphaerotilus natans (smooth form) were lysed by five parasitic strains of Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus. The possible use of Bdellovibrio to control the proliferation of S. natans in the environment was hypothesized. IMAGES:
