Unusually infrequent cleavage with several endonucleases and physical map construction of Bacillus subtilis bacteriophage phi 1 DNA.
HaeIII, BalI, StuI, BamHI, SlaI, and EcoRII did not cut the genome of Bacillus subtilis phage phi 1 at all, whereas ThaI, BglII, EcoRI, SalI, and Bsu1247I cut the genome once or twice. The physical map of the phi 1 genome was constructed with the latter restriction endonucleases. IMAGES:
