Observations on lysogeny in glutamic acid bacteria.
Induced lysis occurred in a number of different strains of glutamic acid bacteria. Mixed culture experiments indicated that induced cultures produce phages or bacteriocins. Temperate phages were isolated from two related strains of Brevibacterium divaricatum. IMAGES:
