Disseminated intravascular coagulation and the Waterhouse-Friderichsen syndrome
In a clinico-pathological study of 13 children who died with Waterhouse-Friderichsen syndrome, there were deposits of fibrin in many organs, especially the adrenal glands and the kidneys.
