Characterization of clinical isolates of beta-lactamase-negative, highly ampicillin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis.
We analyzed the penicillin-binding protein (PBP) profiles of two clinical isolates of Enterococcus faecalis for which ampicillin MICs were 32 and 64 micrograms/ml.
