The group III allergen from the house dust mite Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus is a trypsin-like enzyme.
Faecally enriched extracts of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus were shown to contain a trypsin-like enzyme which was allergenic. Chromatofocusing studies revealed the presence of nine major isoforms in D. pteronyssinus, with pI in the range 4 to greater than 8, but only two (range 4-5) in D. farinae....
