Lack of 5-methylcytosine in Dictyostelium discoideum DNA.
We find no evidence for the presence of 5-methylcytosine in the DNA of Dictyostelium discoideum. Methylation was absent from CCGG sites in repetitive DNA and in DNA from the actin multigene family.
