Cholestatic jaundice caused by D-penicillamine.

D-penicillamine is not generally considered to cause hepatic damage. Cholestatic jaundice developed in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis 4 weeks after penicillamine was added to his regimen, and he died in acute renal failure.
