The conformation of the N—H bond in the title compound, C10H10Cl3NO, is anti to the C=O bond. The amide H atom exhibits both intramolecular N—H...Cl and intermolecular N—H...O hydrogen bonding. The latter interactions link the molecules into infinite chains.
