Au moins trois romans anglais du xxe siècle réagissent ou réfléchissent à Adolphe : Adolphe 1920, de John Rodker (1927) ; Love, d’Angela Carter (1971) ; et Providence, d’Anita Brookner (1981). Le titre du premier indique un rapport à l’hypotexte qui n’est pas toujours évident dans le texte lui-même....
